Longwall Miner
IMMEDIATE OPENING
Morgantown, WV, USA
GMS is actively hiring Experienced Underground Miners with extensive Longwall experience that are interested in traveling throughout North America. Candidates must possess at least 3 years of Longwall experience to gain consideration for these positions. Our current openings are mainly based out of PA/WV, but they will require somewhat frequent travel to other parts of the US such as AL, CO, WY, UT, and some others.
Responsibilities
Perform various longwall tasks
Work as safe and efficiently as possible at all times
Always wear proper PPE, gear, equipment
Work productively alongside various members of the GMS Team
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a preemployment drug test and background check
Some form of longwall experience/knowledge (LW Outby, Operator Scoop/Mule, Pull Shields, Run Shear, LW Mechanic, LW Face Boss/Foreman)
Must possess WV and/or PA Black Hat/Experienced Miner Certification
Must be willing to work rotating shifts, rotating days off and overtime as required
Must be willing to travel at times
Basic ability to speak, read and write English
Job Specifications
Work Schedule: 5+ days/week, 40/hours/week, 10-12 hour shifts, various schedules
Pay Range: $25-45/hour
