Northern B.C. Overland Conveyor Installation

Located in Northern British Columbia, GMS is helping construct a large-scale overland conveyor system designed to support the next generation of mining infrastructure.

Built to improve efficiency, increase production capacity, and reduce environmental impact, this 5-kilometer conveyor system spans challenging terrain with nearly 2,000 feet of elevation change. Through precision planning, expert craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to safety, GMS is helping deliver infrastructure built to perform for decades to come.

Working in one of the most technically challenging sections of the conveyor, GMS crews are installing elevated trusses, bent supports, and structural components designed to withstand significant elevation changes while providing long-term stability and reliable performance.

Built for Strength and Reliability

Every component of the conveyor system is engineered to support continuous, high-volume material transport.

More than 6,000 foundation anchors help secure the structure, while specialized braking systems provide safe operation along conveyor sections reaching grades of up to 17 degrees. Every weld, connection, and structural element is completed with the precision required for long-term success in demanding mining environments.

Moving Mining Forward

When complete, the overland conveyor will serve as the primary material transport system for the operation.

Spanning approximately 5 kilometers and capable of moving up to 1,750 tons of material per hour, the system is designed to improve operational efficiency while reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional haulage methods.
